My story is pretty sweet! It all started 5 years ago when I was working as an art educator and reached the dreaded "teacher burnout". I was struggling to find my voice and passion for what I was doing. I began combining my joy of baking and love for art into what would eventually become a successful business.
I could never have predicted the future of Natalie DeHaven Cakes. I am an artist, yes, free-spirit, sure, but the fear of failure has always kept me from pursuing a career in the arts. That was until two of my best friends, Tim and Lyndsay, asked me to make a cake and 350 cupcakes for their wedding. I had zero experience and no idea what I was doing, but they believed in me. So I did it! My first wedding and the start of it all!
It was the spark that ignited a flame and grew into a bonfire! Their continued support has encouraged me to help other couples make their special day extra sweet too.
Five years and a lot of butter later, I'm still making wedding cakes! I get compliments from clients all the time about how great my cakes taste and the amazing level of detail in my work. I have such a strong passion to create, but my clients have my heart. They are the reason my business exists and why I do what I do.
Natalie DeHaven Cakes provides a very special and unique cake experience for our clients. Our goal is to make a cake that we are proud of, you love and your guests talk about for years to come. We can't wait to work with you and help make your special day extra sweet!
A very special "thank you" to my husband Zack, Sissy and pup Rza. If it weren't for your love, patience and emotional support, I wouldn't be able to keep my head on straight. Amidst a storm of flour and sugar, you help me keep calm and cake on! My cheer squad and biggest fans, I love you to the moon and back.
